In Muscatine on Saturday, January 6, 1951, Dale wrote, “Up at 8 & got breakfast. Took family downtown to the library & paid bills. Bought new lampshades. Watched TV; Army beat Brown in basketball. Slept 3 hours in the afternoon. Kids roller skated in the afternoon. Watched TV at night.” The Army’s Black Knights beat Brown’s Brown Bears, 54 to 49.
