In Minneapolis on Saturday, June 1, 1957, Dale wrote, “Beautiful day. Low 51°, high 69°. I chopped an old tree trunk out of the back yard, mowed the front yard, put a clothesline crosspiece near the back porch for the clothes line. Pitched horseshoes in the back yard. Took Dalene for a ride to Como Park Zoo. Had fried chicken for supper.”
